Lacy Knitters
The Lacy Knitters meets the 2nd Sunday of each month from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm at the museum. The group is dedicated to the joy and preservation of lace knitting. Our monthly meetings provide an outlet for sharing the passion and promoting the art of lace knitting. Beginning and experienced lace knitters are welcome!

Lacy Knitters Guild
The Lacy Knitters began in 1991 as the Mary Schiffmann Lacy Knitters Guild, founded by Gracie Larsen, Mary Schiffmann and Pat Shannon.
“At a Lace Convention in Vancouver, Canada, in 1991, we saw a gorgeous Lace exhibit. There were samples of small doilies, baby clothing, adult blouses, tablecloths, bedspreads and everything in between. ALL KNITTED LACE!!! That evening, six of us got together and agreed it was about time to start a Knitted Lace Pattern Bank, since it was obvious that there were very few patterns available to everyone.
Gracie Larsen – (c) June 1996
When I returned home to California, Mary Schiffmann, a few of our knitting friends and I decided to do just that — with the purpose of collecting and sharing patterns with those who wished to have them. Thus, the “Lacy Knitters” came into existence.
The Lacy Knitters Guild has been in continuous operation since 1991. The Guild publishes four newsletter each year for members, which include lace knitting patterns. For more information about the Lacy Knitters Guild, see www.lacyknittersguild.org.
